Generalities PCC’s Management Plan

The Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia´s (PCC) outstanding features demand the design and implementation of a protection, planning and management tool known as the Management Plan. Through the development of specific policies, the Management Plan intends to maintain and improve the landscape’s current and future conservation and development conditions.

The PCC’s Management Plan encourages the region’s inhabitants to conserve the landscape in a sustainable way that harmonically coexists with the economic activities developed in the area. The guiding principles for the PCC’s management are: economic and social welfare for all its inhabitants, appropriation of the cultural heritage, and environmental sustainability.

In order to reach this goal, national entities such as the Ministry of Culture and the Colombian Coffee Growers Federation (FNC), and local entities including local Governments, Regional Environmental Agencies, and a group of universities from Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda and Valle del Cauca are working together.
